China Cat 2020 ripe 200G

from $8.00

Make your cup a grateful cup with our special blend that named itself China Cat. We’ve used leaves from two different mountains to create this cake. We are so very pleased with the results and ready to get it into your pot!

Half of the tea used is from Mang Fei mountain, picked and processed in 2019, the same tea that we used for our “Zendo” mini tuocha and loose offerings. Fruit and chocolate notes, sweet and earthy with hints of black licorice in the aroma.

The balance is made up of leaf from Bulang, also picked and processed in 2019 and used for our “We Bulang Together” 200g cake and loose offerings. Rich, creamy, mild woody taste. Mineral flavors abound with a gentle dark chocolate-like bitterness.

We love how the two teas balance one another, the sweeter side of the Mang Fei material taking some of the edge off the dark chocolate bitterness of the Bulang tea, resulting in a creamy, dark and delicious brew. Both leaves used in this blend come from pesticide-free tea gardens, far away from the pollution of any city. You deserve clean tea and that’s all you’ll get from us - pure leaf, gratefully sourced.

We do recommend trying the loose leaf versions of the individual teas. That way, you can taste the two components separately and determine the differences that the blending, steaming and pressing makes in the cake version.

Available in 1 oz sample portion, 200 gram cake or 7 cakes in a bamboo-wrapped tong!
