Nannuoshan 2023 Ripe 100g

from $8.00

We are excited to offer this gem of a ripe pu’er cake. It’s got all that we love about a nice ripe tea - smooth, woody, nutty, full on the tongue with a hint of creaminess and quite capable of brewing up nice and strong in longer infusions.

Comprised of spray-free leaves harvested in spring 2022 from old arbor trees on Nannuo Mountain, the leaves were meticulously ripened in summer before being dried. The steaming and pressing of the leaves took place in March of 2023, rack-cured and then wrapped and perfectly stored in Menghai until we bought them in May of 2026. There is not one hint of post-fermentation funk left in this extremely tasty tea. We think you’ll find this one very pleasing in aroma, flavor and feel!

Be sure to check out the raw pu’er version of this same tea here and if’n you enjoy both raw and ripe like we do, pick up the special buy of the two in the drop-down menu in either listing!

Additional Info

Basic Brewing Instructions:

  • Ripe pu’er may be given one or two rinses with the same temperature water as used for brewing. Five to ten seconds will do. The rinse primes the leaf and warms the tea vessel in order to coax maximum flavor from your first steep.

  • 212˚ F water temperature.

  • Use 1 teaspoon per 8 Oz. of filtered water, depending on desired strength and brewing method.

  • Recommended first steeping of 30 seconds - 1 minute.  Add 30 seconds for each subsequent infusion.

Tea brewing is meant to be a joyful exploration. There are no hard and fast rules. Experiment with the quantity of tea that you use, and steeping times. Enjoy discovering what your preferences are. They may change day to day.
